Winged flight - The white expansive wings themselves are strong enough to push opponents back or deal forceful blows. At the same time, they are flexible to be kept under clothing. Her body has become adapted and fit to flight by having a hollow bone structure (thus having zero fat and muscular advantage). Her eyes, ears, and her lungs can withstand any pressure or force that would come with high speed flight, allowing her greater endurance in high altitudes and low temperatures.
Healing factor - An emerging secondary mutation, Rahne's blood is infused with healing properties that could regenerate herself and those who have similar blood type with her
BIOGRAPHY/HISTORY The illegitimate child of a prostitute and a clergyman whose care she was unfortunately left in, Rahne has led a difficult childhood in Kinross, Scotland. She was raised under strict Presbyterian codes, and taught with nothing but the fear of God as well as self-hatred for being a child born out of wedlock (and the murderer of her mother). Her father was behind such ill treatment but Rahne had never known the real reasons why. At the age of thirteen, her mutation began to manifest itself as two feather buds grew on her back. Terrified and confused with no one to turn to, Rahne kept away from school and church until the Reverend himself discovered her, eager to discipline the child for such indolent behavior. By then the buds had already swiftly grown to resemble wings. Angel wings.
News of an angel in Scotland spread out wide and reached Erik Lehnsherr. By this time, Rahne had become so confused of her life's dramatic turn around. She was used to being spurned and condemned to hell than being dubbed a messenger from God. Rahne had nothing to say to the believers who gathered in great numbers just to hear her speak a word. Reverend Craig, who was very much behind his daughter's exposure, had not been helpful as he pressured Rahne into 'accepting' her divine purpose on earth, accusing her as still 'shrinking' in her human flesh.
Erik provided the much needed counsel she needed, explaining how she was special and how the Reverend had done nothing but to exploit her for his own good ever since her birth. He was the first to explain why she had wings and it convinced her who she should look up to as an authority figure.
So the angered and empowered Rahne turned tables and fled the Reverend and Scotland to join Erik and his crusade to fight for people like her: those who had been born different and prosecuted for that sole reason.
PERSONALITY Without a shred of compassion shown to her in her strict upbringing or the presence of any maternal figures that would have taught her how to care, Rahne has difficulty in thinking, feeling or recognizing any affection and emotion. Instead, there are only ideals that are more important than her own self. To live by these is the only way she believes she can be strong and worthy.
STRENGTHS A tough nut to crack. Fiercely loyal to Erik's cause, she could be cruel and ruthless in its name. Rahne also has impressive focus and concentration in her tasks. The Brotherhood's creed and ideals are her own. In fact, the very organization is her way of life. Rahne believes she has a strong sense of justice taught by her difficult upbringing and that is to fight the oppressors in order for the sake of the oppressed.
In her twelve years of constant training she has mastered aerial reflexes, speed, and agility that would aid her in battle. She could stay in the air for half a day and endure harsh conditions for several minutes. Part of her training was to also adapt into her surroundings whether indoors or outdoors, provided of course there is enough space. Thus flight is not just a learned process to her, it's almost instinctive and inherent. In addition, she has studied hand-to-hand combat and the application of blades in battle. As a fighter, Rahne is a war machine.
WEAKNESSES A stoic and hardened personality yields to a hollow and withdrawn self. She has never been able to establish her own identity or consider herself as anything more than an instrument and a tool for a purpose greater than her own life, which is the Brotherhood. Rahne could not form her personal opinions, credo, or even the slightest consideration to herself because she believes that the way she must carry out her existence is through complete devotion. Thus she is almost unable to decide for herself or perhaps live on her own without being subjected to a system or an authority figure who could direct her actions. All of these are still effects from her abusive upbringing which she never really was able to confront or find closure.
Still, Rahne is aware of her psychological short comings which is why she rarely ever speaks and would vehemently resist opening up (not that she knows how to in the first place). The Brotherhood is an armament against her frail emotional well-being.
APPEARANCE The green eyed Rahne has long red hair to her waist, a striking and angry contrast to the pair of white ethereal feathered wings on her back. Without her wings, Rahne appears slight and petite in stature.
